TOP 5 Great Tech YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW BUT CAN BE Gifted Under $100 [CHRISTMAS]

10 Great Tech Gifts Under $100

1.

Samsung Gear VR

Well, after many false starts, it appears that virtual reality may finally become a thing. While there are many high-end models out there which will run you several hundred dollars when you figure in hardware and attached PC/console (looking at you, PlayStation VR and Oculus Rift), one simpler model is the smartphone-based Samsung Gear VR

The Gear VR is, in effect, just a shell that you slip your phone into. We should note that Gear VR only works with recent Samsung Galaxy S and Note phones. This would be a good gift for someone on your gift list with a new Galaxy phone (hopefully they don't still have their smokin' hot Note 7) and who might enjoy the growing library of VR content out there. I can say that I've used Gear VR and found it to be a capable and comfortable VR experience. While the gaming potential is limited; this is a great device for consuming media. Wacom Bamboo Spark

Have you noticed how Big Tech (even Apple) has embraced styli recently? The reason is that the human mind-hand system is actually really well-suited to using a pen-like device on paper. One digital platform that fully embraced the pen paradigm is the Wacom Bamboo Spark.

The Bamboo Spark allows users to take notes (or make doodles!) with a physical pen on actual paper and then transfer those marks to a phone or tablet. It even translates handwriting to digital text. This is the perfect gift for any note-takers out there who really miss the simplicity of using a pen and pad. BUY IT HERE

3
Chromecast Ultra

Got a new 4K-ready TV, but don't want to invest in an expensive 4K-streaming device or a new brawny Wi-Fi setup? Google has your back. The company's souped-up Chromecast Ultra allows users to stream UHD and HDR video right to their TV. But as an added bonus for those without the most muscular of Wi-Fi connections, the Chromecast Ultra has an Ethernet port to support a standard, reliable wired connection. Now you can see every pore in Kevin Spacey's face—should you be into that. Note that this is not for everyone; for more, check out Google Chromecast vs. Chromecast Ultra: What's the Difference?

Asus Chromebit

$82.99 at Amazon
For less than a Benjamin, you can turn any display (with an HDMI port) into a PC. The 4.8-inch wide, Wi-Fi connected Asus Chromebit can bring Chrome OS to your TV. To operate it, you'll have to connect via Bluetooth to a separate (not included) keyboard and mouse. This is a good gift for anyone who is constantly on the move, but needs to bring a light (but still robust) PC experience wherever they go.

5.
Misfit Ray

For all their usefulness, wearables of all form factors tend to underwhelm when it comes to design. One notable outlier has been the fashion-minded folks over at Misfit. One example we really liked was the sleek, minimalist Misfit Ray

Eschewing a display for a metal wrist-sized obelisk, the water-proof Ray still manages to automatically and accurately track activities via a connected mobile app. The app allows for all the versatility we've come to expect from trackers, but all the interactivity has been outsourced to your phone. This is a great gift for any fitness-minded people on your gift list who don't necessarily want to wear some chunky ugly trinket.
